For more than 80 years, The Bushnell has been entertaining generations with Broadway shows, musicals, ballets and opera.  The renowned Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art is the oldest public art museum in the United States, and the collection boasts over 5,000 years of art.  Live music thrives at venues from small and intimate to arena-sized events.  This is also the region where famed writer Mark Twain lived and created some of his classic works.

Interested in a fun educational experience?  The Connecticut Science Center overlooks the Connecticut River and provides a huge variety of hands-on and informational exhibits.

Hartford is known as the insurance capital of the world and is home to major insurance companies such as Aetna, Cigna, Mass Mutual, Travelers, and The Hartford.  The area is also home to diverse businesses and industries ranging from aerospace to health, media and education.  Some of the major employers in the area are: United Technologies (including Pratt & Whitney), St. Francis Hospital, Hartford Hospital, University of Connecticut, ESPN, and Northeast Utilities.
