Berlin Connecticut Real Estate

Berlin blends a rich history into a vibrant place to live, work or play.  Located in the geographical center of the state, Berlin is a short 10-mile drive to the capital city of Hartford.  Berlin is a mid-size town with a population of 20,000.

History  Berlin is the home of “The Yankee Peddler,” coined for the 18th century Pattison’s who were known for pedaling their tin wares from house to house in Berlin and throughout America and Canada. The mid 18th century also brought the Berlin Railroad Depot as a way station to Hartford, New Haven and New York.  Today, Amtrak continues the service from the Berlin station across the US and Canada.  Connecticut Route 9 is Berlin’s main link to the state’s two major interstate highways: I-91, traveling north and south and  I-84, running east and west.

Its central location, great schools and neighborhoods along with close proximity to employment hubs makes Berlin a great place to live.

The Loft at Sherwood Falls 2010 began the long awaited transformation of a town landmark building, “Sherwood Industries” into trendy SOHO style Loft condominiums. This landmark brick factory building was originally constructed in 1893 and the home of the famous Greek paper coffee cup, the "Anthora" used in diners all over the world and likely the most recognizable cup in history. In its’ hey-day, cup production exceeded hundreds of millions of cups per year. This iconic building with architecture so admired today has new life and is now Berlin’s most desirable trendspot. Phase I & II, over 75% sold and Phase III is now underway. The Lofts at Sherwood Falls when complete will include 72 condominiums within the main factory building and 14 townhouses on the site directly across.
